Malaysian telecommunications operator, Axiata Group Bhd. As owners of $EXCL and Sinarmas Group as owners of $FREN have revived talks between the two, which has the potential to lead to a merger between the telecommunications operators they own in Indonesia.
Attempts at discussions between the two companies follow similar efforts in previous years that did not produce results.
In the second trading session today, $EXCL shares rose 0.8% to a level of Rp. 2,470 per share, while $FREN shares jumped 11.3% to a level of Rp. 59 per share.
